How we check
We read the IRS fact sheets, the Schedule 1-A form (including the draft 2026 version), and the final Treasury regulations, then write the rules in plain English. When the IRS updates a page, we update ours and the "last checked" date.
Notes: the 2026 Schedule 1-A is a draft and is not for filing. The car loan final regulations (T.D. 10054) take effect November 9, 2026.
